“Christmas in Pisa” meet inside all the initiatives promoted by the Local and wanted for Christmas: a rich and unique program that for the first year, brings together events and performances in commercial, cultural and entertainment .
The first appointments, related to the Christmas period, will begin Saturday, December 6, with the inauguration of the track skating, an appointment to the Park of the Citadel – until 11 January 2009 – with the performance of schools in the province of skating Pisa, in collaboration with UISP.
Then, two interesting events scheduled for Monday, December 8, the ignition of the Christmas tree – decorated and arranged by AVIS – in Piazza XX Settembre with the usual concert of the choir of St. Nicholas, and inauguration of the second edition of ‘Christmas initiative of Pisa, Crib Napoletano-style 700 – until this Sunday, January 11, 2009 – Amid the Church of San Domenico, by the Friends of the Museums and Monuments Pisani, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and the Foundation Dear Pisa.
To accompany the first events related to “A Christmas Pisa”, in addition to the Sunday opening of the center, the streets of Pisa will be animated by a rich succession of fairs and flea markets with Christmas items, antiques, crafts and local produce from 1 December to 24 December, with production, exhibition and sale of gift items and products of various kinds.
In the musical, the Department of Culture, promotes, finally, a wide range of shows and exhibitions, with the first event “of Christmas Concert – Puccini and the surrounding area …” on 9 December at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa.
